The truth is, no one person fully understands the concept of throat singing. It is not widely studied and very few people have ever heard it preformed live because the difficulty to perfect the skills need to preform on a professional level. The throat singing creates two distinct notes, with a harsh vibrato tone.

Throat singing also known as Khoomei is said to have started in Tuvan, a small autonous state of Russia, just north of modern day Mongolia. Because of the conquests of Mongolia, during Genghis Khan's reign many distinguished cultures mixed, so the throat sing tradition migrated to Western Mongolia. Today that is where some of the most talented throat singers come from. The overall experience from listening to Mongolian throat singing is completely unique and haunting.
